I guess you’ve asked yourself why you don’t get what you want many times. We’ve all been there. In this article, I’m sharing a spiritual perspective on why you don’t get what you want, even if it’s something that matters to you.
We Can Have It, But
Sometimes it seems that no matter how much you try, you still don’t get what you want.
I believe that some of you are on a spiritual path because you wanted to figure the way to the life you desire. I want to tell you that despite these 6 reasons why you don’t get what you want, you can still have it.
There isn’t a figure up in the skies judging your choices. It’s your mind that does it.
When what we want isn’t aligned with our higher purpose, we pay a higher price to get it.
When our desired outcomes aren’t in resonance with our life plan, we have to invest more of our life force energy in achieving it.
This may lead to faster aging, creating disruptive energies in our relationships, or undermining our health. Because our energy is our only real currency.
6 Reasons Why You Don’t Get What You Want
1. It’s Not For You
When you don’t get what you want, you need to distinguish whether the thing was really meant for you. And when you kept it alive only with your belief.
I know that it may be tricky to see the difference. Sometimes we can only see it backward. But even though you think it’s the thing you think you want the most, it may not be for you.
Sometimes the very thing we want doesn’t serve our highest path.
Here is an example. Maybe you wish to become wealthy. But your higher self knows that if you did become wealthy right now, you’d stop working on yourself. You’d rest on your laurels and wouldn’t feel motivated to become a better version of you.
2. Where Does Your Desire Come From?
When you don’t get what you want, one of the reasons may be that you want it from the space of ego.
There are 2 kinds of desires – the ones coming from “the lower self” and the ones that are the seeds of your higher self.
Sometimes we subconsciously want a specific partner or achieve something to prove somebody our worth. Or we want it from the space of pride because down deep, we believe that we deserve it, and we’re better than others.
The ego can also push us to dreams that would allow us to be seen in a certain way, which would bring us accomplishment.
Our ego likes sometimes to confuse heaven with hell so that we can’t distinguish them. Whenever inspiration comes from your higher self, then it’s 100% for you.
But sometimes our subconscious mind makes us chase something that is only a distraction from the amazing thing that is waiting for us to let that illusion go.
Where does your desire originate from?
3. Divine Timing
Divine timing may play a big role when you don’t get what you want. Not everything is about us. Sometimes the right people also need to be ready for us.
Although you can condense the time to bring the diving timing into your present moment. Sometimes our path needs to also align with the planetary timeline or the timeline of our soul’s group.
If you’ve checked that your big dream originates from your higher self, then keep going. Don’t give up. Maybe some chain of events needs to occur before you can have what you want.
When you don’t get what you want, you may not have learned all the lessons related to your current level.
Just like when we study at school, we also go through different spiritual tests and classes. Because our soul wants us to grow.
We move through lessons, not as a punishment, but because we enjoy expanding our consciousness.
Sometimes we may think that we’re ready for what we want when in fact, there are still some lessons to be understood.
What lessons related to my dream am I not seeing?
What do I need to master this lesson?
5. Who Do You Need to Become?
Another reason why you don’t get what you want is that first, you need to become the kind of person who is ready for that dream.
I know that you think that you’d be ready to handle your dream if it came today. But is it true?
The journey that seems to bring only obstacles your way is actually helping you to become the person who is aligned with what they had asked for.
You have to occupy a new energetic space to be in resonance with your dream.
Your big dream may ask you to do some inner healing work. It may ask you to start believing in the universe and its timing. Very likely, you’ll have to shift your frequency and work your light in a new spectrum.
Like it or not, in most cases, by not getting what you want, your higher self is teaching you the art of resilience.
If you achieved your dream right away, it’d not teach you all the previous lessons I mentioned. Also, you wouldn’t value it enough when it comes.
But another key reason why you don’t get what you want is that through the process, you’re getting out of your way. The seeming obstacles purify your being and make you look within yourself.
You’re becoming resilient to “bad luck.” And even more committed to what you want, this time without the ego attached to it.
Is it possible that you don’t get what you want because your ego stands in your way?
