4 Ways to Protect Your Inner Genius as a Visionary Soul

As a visionary soul, your zone of genius lies in the ability to dream and envision what others consider impossible. You weren’t born to do things like others; you came here to shape the new world. And deep down you know that. But let’s face it, being a visionary isn’t easy. You must face endless projections, envy, unsolicited advice, and worse of all, control from others. The truth is that the world isn’t always easy on visionaries.

Many visionary, influential people in history had to carve out their own paths and face endless obstacles from others. But back then, they knew one thing we’ve forgotten: the skill of caring for and protecting your inner genius.

The visionaries of history knew that even the most gifted visionary may stay invisible and small if they don’t learn to work with their zone of genius. And so they sought out the masters who would challenge them. They also found patrons, allowing them to focus fully on their zone of genius as visionaries.

As someone who supports visionaries, I’m deeply passionate about this topic. I want you to become a supernova. I want you to shine and unleash all your visionary magic in the world. Because the world needs you. So let me share 4 ways to protect your inner genius as a visionary. These 4 beliefs should be so engraved in you that they become your second nature, so that you’ll clear out the space for the things that truly move the needle forward in your life.

The Invisible Ache a Visionary Soul Feels Within

As a visionary soul, you’re likely familiar with the following pattern. You carry visions deep within your soul that you know could change the world. It feels as if they are from the future, and you’re meant to be the doorway for them. Those visions instill so much inner fire within that it sometimes feels like it could ignite the whole world. And maybe, just maybe, that is exactly what it’s meant to do.

But it’s not only your visionary nature that’s eye-catching about you, but it’s also something you like to downplay and hide. And that’s the fact that many things come effortlessly to you. Learning a new skill? Easy. Intuitively feeling out the best solution in a complex situation? Easy. Understanding multi-layered things quickly? Easy. Studying a new field? As a visionary, you do it in a fraction of the time it is supposed to take.

And this is exactly what makes people envious of you. And so you try to hide. You sabotage yourself enough to slow yourself down. To be like others. To fit in. But you were born to shape the new world, and that’s not going to happen by fitting into the existing one.

How Does This World Control Your Genius?

As a visionary, you’re likely sensitive to control, and for a good reason, because it’s not just you imagining it; the world has tried to control your genius. There are many forms of control that you need to unravel and see them for what they are and how they impact your genius. But there is one that really excites every visionary (irony intended). And it’s the idea that there is the (only) right way and a certain order of doing things.

We are told that we need to figure out the right way. If you don’t do it the right way, then it basically doesn’t count. At very least, no one believes in you and your way. Because, guess what, it doesn’t matter if it’s not done as it’s supposed to be.

This belief that there is only one right way of doing things feels like a prison for a visionary soul. It goes against your very nature. It tries to put your genius into a neat, square box and tells you to use only a small fraction of it. The fraction that is easy to control.

And that’s likely what you’ve done. God knows that you’ve tried harder than anyone to be like others and be happy with that. But no matter how hard you try, you can’t fit yourself into existing systems or do things the right way. Because likely the “right” way doesn’t make any sense to you.

Likely, by the time you become an adult, you’re already wounded by the system. You were surrounded by people who don’t understand visionaries. People who don’t understand or care for your inner genius. Who are perfectly happy to live the way we should live.

And over time, this hurts more than anything else. The knowing that this whole time, while staying loyal to others, you’ve been betraying yourself.

And all of this has been slowing you down—your loyalty to those people. You’re doubting yourself and your genius, which doesn’t let you move at the speed you were created for – the lightspeed.

Why Other People Control Visionaries

As a visionary, you’re familiar with attracting attention, envy, and projections. Especially by people who don’t live in the world of pure potentiality and creative visions. If someone doesn’t understand visions and genius, they try to bring them down to their level to control the source of the vision. To produce only visions that fit into their paradigm. And still, a part of you feels like you need to stay loyal to them. Because this is what you were conditioned to be.

As a visionary, you’re familiar with people mimicking your magic, but lacking the embodiment and genius behind it. You’re used to people trying to own a piece of you. Limiting you so that they could control you by seeding doubts in you.

The truth is that some people will always project their unworthiness onto your genius. If we feel we can’t have that something, we try to tarnish it so we stop wanting it.

You’ve likely encountered people who tell you that you aren’t realistic. A fair point, by the way. Since you’re shaping the future, not maintaining the existing. You share your vision with someone close to you, and they instantly doubt it. As a child, perhaps your parents didn’t support your many interests, and you know you could have been further in life if they had. There are many forms of control.

The truth is that, in most cases, people control visionaries on an unconscious level. Change is always dangerous at first. It questions our status quo. It asks us to rise and become a greater version of ourselves, but only a few are willing to do it voluntarily. Most are rather pushed off the cliff. And so, you may not have many close people who truly get you and understand your visionary genius.

You likely feel lonely, and that loneliness makes you want to belong, which in turn plays down your genius.

The Impossible Choice of Every Visionary

As a visionary, you face the impossible choice. Either you choose to belong at the cost of losing your inner spark and creating unnecessary problems and slowing yourself down to prove that you’re just like others whose approval you’re seeking.

Or you cut off people and become the lonely wolf who is a genius and potentially angry and withdrawn on the inside. The one who feels like no one gets you or understands you. Either way, your magic and genius stay locked inside you, and that is going to cost you a life meant for you. None of these states are supportive of your inner genius.

So what is? Learning to care for your inner genius. Although there are many ways to do it, depending on your specific visionary-genius gifts, these 4 apply to all visionaries.

4 Ways to Protect Your Genius as a Visionary

1. Create Your Jedi Training

The first step to care for your genius as a visionary is to create your very own Jedi Training (I teach it here).

Think of a true warrior in medieval China who has the potential to become the greatest warrior of all time. He is taught by other masters, other great warriors, how to wield his power and mind. These masters can train him to become the best because they’ve walked the same path before. They can collapse time for him, focus him on what moves the needle forward.

Because you can be a great warrior, but it doesn’t make you immune to your ego, your pride, or anger, which can make a fatal mistake where it matters the most. To be the greatest, you need one thing: wisdom.

Mistakes have nothing to do with your genius, but with your wounding. As a visionary, you must be very clear about that and work on your inner landscape while honing your skills. But if you go through the Jedi Training – a mastery school led by other visionary leaders who understand the discipline, consistency, and dedication- you can become anything.

Yes, you carry the genius. This was given to you. But still, you need mastery-level training to become the greatest version of yourself you can become.

2. Don’t Take Advice From People Who Aren’t Visionaries

The biggest mistake you can make as a visionary is sharing your vision with the wrong people. They’ll never understand what it takes to live as a visionary in a world that isn’t equipped to support genius-gifted visionaries. They’ll never understand what it feels like to live this life, where a part of you channels solutions from the future or higher dimensions while you live your 3D life. You’re in both realities at once because you’re the bridge between the two.

People who aren’t visionaries don’t know how to live in the field of pure potentiality. Instead, they become the judge of whether what you do is right or wrong. They make up rules of the game you haven’t even signed up for. Consequently, you’ll be living a life in their shadow. They’ll become the ceiling, instead of God.

This is what the ego does. Ego seeks power to feel in control and to feel important. And real power comes from visions. Visions that turn ideas into actions, which turn into movements, which in turn change the world. But the ego can’t access the field of pure potentiality in a higher state of consciousness, so it instead focuses on suppressing those who can.

You can respect these people and even have a great relationship with them, but you must make it very clear to yourself that they’re not your steward. They aren’t the keepers of your life. Your life is sacred and is between you and Source (God).

3. Stop Seeking Approval from the People Your Gifts Aren’t Meant For

The greatest advice I was ever given was to stop caring what people that my gifts aren’t meant for think. As a visionary, your genius and gifts are meant for a select group of people. We could go into soul contracts and have a whole different conversation about how to find those people. But what truly matters is trusting your intuition about who the person is your visions and genius are meant for.

If they didn’t receive that vision, they can’t guide you in expressing it. In other words, you don’t need their opinion. You need to remember your sovereignty.

Remember that you don’t need other people to approve of you. They aren’t your keepers. The vision has already approved of you since it chose you. If all great visionaries of history worried about what others were thinking, then they wouldn’t have created their magic. Now it’s time to create yours. Share it with only those it’s meant for. You don’t need to take everyone on that journey with you; it’s okay to walk the path alone.

A simple example of this is writing a fantasy book and giving it to someone who is hyper-scientifically oriented to read. They’ll likely think it’s made-up nonsense, when in fact, it may be the perfect book for the right audience. Know who your people are and who aren’t.

4. Stop Living in Other People’s Shadow

The last piece of advice for protecting your genius as a visionary is to stop living in other people’s shadow. This is likely a subconscious pattern in which you put someone else in the driver’s seat of your life. Sometimes, this habit is clear, and sometimes it’s gradual and slow.

Living in someone else’s shadow could be living in the energetic setpoint your parents gave you that you can’t seem to outgrow. Or feeling like you need your spouse’s approval or opinion as if you were their child, not an equal partner.

So, I invite you to examine and be honest with yourself about where you dim your light and play small. Who do you place on a pedestal above yourself? Whose opinion matters more than your own? Do you feel like you can’t outgrow the success of your parents or partner? These are just a few ideas to begin your inner exploration.

If you carry a genius within, you also have the responsibility for translating it into reality.

Spiritual Leadership

Refine yourself and your mission through self-leadership.

Create impact. Move with intention.

There are fears that stop you from being your most potent version of yourself, and you know that.

You know you have a big mission, but the fear of being seen and sharing your voice, being in your power and successful, makes you play on the sidelines of your life, and you know that.

It’s time to change your soul wounds stopping you from creating the impact you’re here to make.
