10 Keys to Spiritual Initiations and How to Navigate Them

The soul experiences several major spiritual initiations over all lifetimes. These initiations are identical for everyone. However, they manifest differently depending on our response to them. I want to share the nine key principles for navigating them. These principles are timeless and simple but powerful when you commit yourself to mastering them.

The 10 Keys to Spiritual Initiations

The soul moves through spiritual initiations on its ascension journey through a series of lifetimes. Typically, it takes a couple of lifetimes and thousands of years to move through just one spiritual initiation. However, in the Golden Age, the soul can move through several initiations in just one life.  Those initiations are identical for every single soul incarnated; they are the same themes and topics we must master. However, how the soul ascends through those initiations can be different. It can be unique, depending on your soul’s history or ancestry and how it has descended into this dimension in the first place.

Some spiritual initiations involve self-identity and stripping away our attachment to what we believed was us, with power, mastering the astral body, activating our solar consciousness, etc. Each major spiritual initiation involves seven sub-levels. Therefore, as a lightworker, some of your experiences might be the forces the spiritual initiation sets in motion. It’s like going to university but studying the curriculum in your daily life instead of having it reserved for the classroom.

The people who feel drawn to my Mystery School are typically between the first and third initiations. My School of Remembrance curriculum is crafted to follow the natural order of the spiritual initiations to help the soul navigate the ascension pathway. That being said, moving through a spiritual initiation isn’t something you can demand. You can merely create an environment that supports you in mastering the lessons of spiritual initiations. And then, there is the moment when everything connects, and you are initiated to the next level.

Being initiated is different from mastering it. Mastering it takes dedication and inner work. You can’t say how long it will take because it depends on many factors. However, the best approach is not to stress about where you are but to consciously face what’s right in front of you.

How Does a Spiritual Initiation Feel?

When you are initiated, you first experience ignition on the soul level. It may feel like there is (spiritual) fire moving through you. This is because your soul’s essence and radiance need to increase. Like, a spaceship must be ignited to reach the Earth’s orbit. This ignition usually happens quickly, so it’s not a slow-burning fire but an unexpected sudden ignition.

Once your source essence reaches a certain momentum – a specific percentage of light – you open the door to the initiation. Unlike a “usual” transformation, this feels like you’ve become an entirely different person overnight. The lens through which you look at the world is changed. Everything needs to be updated – your concept of self, the way you think, act and feel. It’s like having a different operational system altogether. Then we move through the learning and mastering everything related to the particular spiritual initiation, which takes lifetimes, decades, or, at best, years.

There are millions of ways to receive an initiation. Some people experience it while they sleep at night, some during a specific meditation, and some are exposed to the energy of someone specific during a life-changing moment. Not everyone knows they’ve just been initiated into the next level, so there is no one-size-fits-all blueprint.

1. Master the Language of the Subconscious

The subconscious mind speaks to you in the language of symbols. It’s symbolic thinking, similar to when we have a dream at night. Most dreams and visions are symbolic and not literal things. Therefore, it’s beneficial to start working with the meaning of symbols. A good way to practice this is by decoding the meaning of your dreams. You can look up their meaning in a dream dictionary, but it’s even more powerful to sit with the moments of your dream you remember. What does it make you feel? How do those symbols and colors speak to you?

Although symbols are universal, your subconscious mind uses the symbols that speak to you. So take the time to contemplate the symbols you see in your waking life (like a specific animal, an ankh, angel numbers, etc.), in your dreams, and through your visions, and see what opens up within your soul.

Many times, I see people take things literally. Then, it creates lots of confusion. If you are anywhere between those three initiations, your mind will
likely talk to you symbolically. Therefore, taking things less literally and spending more time understanding the coding of those symbols is beneficial.

2. No Shortcuts

The next key to mastering spiritual initiations is to realize that there are no shortcuts. No guru, book, or ceremony will do the work on your behalf. You’re the only person who can do that. Realizing this gives you back your power. You need to learn to tap into your limitless inner resources.

The more we rush, the slower it gets.

You are not on this planet to figure out the perfect tool or structure. True things require deep contemplation that takes years, decades, and lifetimes. It takes time and patience; however, when you walk your spiritual path with this knowledge, it will eventually all connect, no matter how long it takes. Tools can be helpful, but it’s equally important to recognize when you’ve outgrown them.

3. Recurring Themes

The third key to spiritual initiation is to notice and decode the recurring themes in your life. Look at your life and narrow down the main themes you cyclically move through. Are they relationship or money issues? Do other people’s opinions take your power away? Then, see what the common threads are in those recurring themes. What is actually at the heart of those themes? What are they teaching you?

Look at your life’s underlying energy, key dynamics, and the themes you experience repeatedly. In my experience, there are up to five key dynamics in someone’s life, usually one or two. These dynamics manifest differently through experiences that can seem separate but manifest the same energy. In other words, what is happening is a detail because the same thing comes over again in different clothes.

4. Personal Power

The fourth key to spiritual initiation is to examine your relationship with power and power in general. Our relationship to power impacts every decision we make. We self-sabotage if we don’t know how to manage our energy and power. If someone else has power over us, we might end up living someone else’s life. However, the reason for exploring your relationship with power is deeper.

One of the spiritual initiations where I see most people have struggled in their past lifetimes is around power. I dare to say that all lightworkers have had lifetimes where they’ve misused their power or their life journey was severely altered by someone else’s misuse of power. As a result, you don’t let yourself operate at your highest capacity because then you’d become powerful, which doesn’t feel safe. This blocks you more than you realize; therefore, overcome your resistance to investigating your experience with power because it’s the key to your liberation.

5. Fear of Darkness

The fifth key to spiritual initiation is investigating and healing the fear of darkness. Many lightworkers fear the darkness will catch them no matter what they do. It’s always right behind you, and you need to keep running. Due to this fear, most lightworkers want to keep a low profile; they don’t want to be visible. They are afraid to speak their truth. Subconsciously, they’re so scared to shine and be energetically seen because then “the darkness” finds them.

However, ignoring this fear doesn’t work. In the astral realm, the rule is not that if I don’t see something, it can’t see me. I’ve devoted my life to helping lightworkers overcome their fears so they can share their gifts with the world. And I can tell you that the only absolute protection is to embrace who you are and step into your power. Therefore, I invite you to heal the fear of darkness. It may not be visible at first, but from experience, all lightworkers have it.

6. Universal Laws

Understanding natural and universal laws is the key to spiritual initiation. We’re in constant communion with everything in existence, after all. Our responsibility is to know how Life and the universe work and our place in it. Naturally, we won’t know all the universe’s secrets, but we should forever aim to decode them. It will never be a perfect understanding, and that is okay.

Contemplating things you have no direct answer for develops your consciousness.

Finally, we must also understand the bigger picture of our soul’s journey. Many people say it’s not essential to know why something happens. However, if we truly heal, the why becomes apparent. The point of the healing was to understand the soul’s lesson. The next step is to see how our soul’s journey relates to the cosmic journey. Asking philosophical questions and contemplating them even for weeks, years, or decades speeds up our spiritual evolution.

7. Time Alone

If you think spending time alone is selfish, I have good news: it’s paramount to “passing” the spiritual initiations. When you’re in space without distractions, in nature, or kneeling before your altar, you cultivate the bridge to your soul, Higher Self, and God. You receive inspiration, answers, and insights that can alter your life.

Spending time alone is an active and conscious act. Have an intention for each pocket of time when you can just be. Move through the layers of you until you arrive at your core. You don’t need three hours a day to meditate, although that might be something that works for you in this season of your life. Half an hour daily is enough if the time is spent consciously.

I also invite everyone to take solo trips. You don’t need to travel to another part of the planet; maybe you can take a three-day hike in your country’s natural area. Get out of your comfort zone, away from the noise and distractions, and tap into your own energy. It will change your life.

8. The Mind-Heart Coherence

The essential key to spiritual initiation is developing mind-heart coherence. This is the essence of the first three spiritual initiations, including mastering the body and the physical realm. You’ve likely heard me say this many times, and it’s because this is the foundation of everything.

If the mind doesn’t respect the heart and if the heart overpowers the mind, we keep falling back into old consciousness that we’ve outgrown. But did we, really?

Your ego will serve your soul when you heal your mind, programming, and limiting beliefs. You’ll never get lost again when you activate and keep your heart open. Your spiritual heart will guide you through any decision and tell you where to go at any crossroads.

Once you’ve achieved the mind-heart coherence, the Christ Consciousness is established within you. This is the highest level of consciousness we can embody while in the physical body.

9. Cultivate Your Spiritual Faculties

The last key to spiritual initiation is cultivating your spiritual and psychic faculties to the fullest extent. I’ve noticed that people always desire a spiritual gift they don’t have. People who “know” would like to hear the messages audibly. People who feel what’s right for them in their bodies prefer to have visions. The best advice I can give you is to work with what you have, develop it as far as you can, and then another gift opens up.

The most crucial part is understanding that your gifts will refine as your consciousness grows. You don’t need a ceremony in the Amazon forest to activate your gifts or change your life. You need to build solid foundations within yourself, which takes time and dedication. And this is the only path to true mastery.

10. Cultivate Presence and Stillness

The last key to mastering spiritual initiation is cultivating one’s presence. Presence doesn’t only mean being present; it’s so much more. I imagine an old master living in the Himalayas who has devoted his life to becoming an Ascended Master.

When you’re around the master, you can feel his potent energy without uttering a single word. You can feel his powerful, calm, and very intense aura penetrating your mind. Just being in his presence is healing. It changes you. It triggers some people, ignites other people, and transforms everyone.

This is the power of your presence that you need to cultivate. The strength of your presence depends on the level of commitment to your true self. The deeper you tap into your soul, heart, and higher self, the stronger others feel your presence.
