How to Let Go of the Fear of Being Seen
The soul isn’t afraid to be seen; the ego does. Actually, being seen is natural to your soul and your essence. Everything tangible and lasting will always radiate and shine; others can see it. Others are touched by it, which inspires them to shine, too. This is what Light does. It illuminates, it is seen. However, it’s your ego that doesn’t like to be seen. Why? Because Light amplifies everything. It exposes the ego, the shadow, the insecurities, the limiting stories.
When you’re being seen as a lightworker, you’re being seen in your unique, purest essence.
When others can truly see you, it’s not “you”; it’s not your personality; it’s the essence that shines through you. So, in a way, it’s completely impersonal. It’s the ego that is afraid to be exposed because it can’t hide in the limelight. Everything that is not real likes to be hidden. It likes to dwell in the shadows because the moment we see it, it disappears as if it never was there.
Keeping this in mind, let’s answer the two questions below to let go of the fear of being seen as a lightworker.
1. What Does Not Being Seen as a Lightworker Allow You to Do (or Not)?
Imagine yourself being seen in the way you truly feel in your heart. Which part of you freaks out? Is it your soul or your ego? The ego is afraid to be seen because of something that would be exposed. Let me give you a couple of examples here.
I remember one gifted client who was afraid to be seen because being seen would amplify his exhaustion. When you create something from the energy of exhaustion, it isn’t your soul’s energy at work.
There is the ego, which rules our choices when we disconnect from how we want to live. Subconsciously, this client was (correctly) afraid that if he were seen as a lightworker, others would feel his exhaustion as well.
The fear of being seen as a lightworker doesn’t belong to your soul; it shows you what foundation you need to strengthen to shine.
Another gifted client was afraid to be seen as a lightworker because others would then see her in her power (which she didn’t let herself embrace). Thus, her fear of her own power would be amplified as well. She didn’t feel she had the support in her life to face it, so she kept hiding until she joined the School of Remembrance.
Therefore, I invite you to examine what your fear of being seen as a lightworker protects you from. What will be amplified as you share your gifts? What fear will become tangible, and you’d rather keep hidden? And ultimately, what are you afraid other people would see in you that you’d prefer to keep hidden?
Look at anything that comes up as a signpost to what foundation you need to strengthen in yourself.
2. Who Is That Version of You That Is Seen?
The second question to explore to let go of the fear of being seen as a lightworker is to contemplate what you don’t see in yourself. These are your gifts, strengths, and beautiful aspects you haven’t yet claimed. This is your soul that desires to shine through your words, actions, and choices.
Perhaps you don’t recognize your impact on others or your inner strength. Maybe you focus on what doesn’t work and don’t see the gifts you already have.
What are you not claiming in yourself?
As you contemplate this, you realize there is no fear of being seen once you see yourself. When you see yourself correctly, you recognize the ego and the soul. You know what you’re good at and what you’re not. You know where you hide, and you don’t let yourself fall into stagnation.
