How Can True Spiritual Surrender Transform Your Life

Over the years, I’ve had many conversations with people about spiritual surrender. It seems to be a misunderstood topic, raising the question of whether to be passive or active. Should we just allow things to come to us, or should we act? Many people wobble between allowing and controlling. When something doesn’t work out as expected, creating a new belief system around why it didn’t manifest is easy. However, like the laws of physics, universal energies flow through our lives with a specific design. When we decode it, we find the perfect balance between allowing and being active.

The ever-present dilemma of doing versus being involves balancing our inner feminine and masculine energy. This teaches us how to find a correct relationship to the universal forces and our part in them. It teaches us how to find the right balance between doing, being, and allowing.

What Is a True Spiritual Surrender

Many people think that surrendering means being passive and waiting. However, that is not correct. In a true spiritual surrender, the ego lets go of control while staying connected to the soul’s guidance. When we surrender, we don’t let go of our deepest soul desires, but we let go of the how, when, and the details of what we desire should look like.

Could you imagine a life where you stay connected to your soul’s true desires while releasing the how? What if we don’t have to make our soul’s dreams wrong if they don’t show up the minute we want them to? Instead, we become flexible and playful with our dreams, just like the river knows it will reach its destination.

Spiritual surrender doesn’t mean letting go of what you want; it’s a choice to surrender the ego to your soul’s guidance. You stay committed to your dreams, hold your intentions, and nurture your visions of what you desire. But you’re open and supple about the journey, the how, and the exact what. As you surrender, you know that something much greater than you’ve imagined can manifest.

What if your wildest dream was just a limitation of what is truly possible for you?

A true spiritual surrender feels like this: This is what I feel in my soul and my heart, and this is what I desire to create. But I’m open to how it happens and when, and I’m open to the possibility that the result may be something better.

Committing to Your Soul

Spiritual surrender is the gateway to your soul. This is when you begin to embody your soul. I vividly remember the moment it happened to me back in 2014. I decided to let go of all my ideas about what my life should look like and truly surrender to my soul’s guidance. If you’re interested, read my story in my memoir, Find Yourself.

Since then, I’ve seen my clients reach that attachment-free state of being where true possibilities exist. When they live in this space, they can quickly change their lives in ways that have felt impossible.

From a spiritual perspective, surrender is the bridge from 4D to 5D.

Sometimes, people unconsciously surrender to get what they want, but it doesn’t work that way. This can work if we’re children, but you can’t negotiate with the universe. There are simple and powerful laws that we need to understand and respect.

Spiritual surrender happens at the level of the higher heart chakra. We need to feel it and mean it with every fiber of our being. It’s not something we can intellectualize or change our mind about if we don’t get what we want. It’s a way of being regardless of outcomes.

The 3 Levels of Co-Creation

1. It happens to me

At the first level of co-creation, we feel life happens to us, not for us. Everything feels outside our control, and we live in the story of what we can’t ever be and achieve. The story feels real, and it becomes the limitation of what we can create. At this level, the idea of spiritual surrender feels foreign and like it couldn’t work for us.

2. I make it happen

As we access our power and take responsibility for our lives, we decide to change our story. We focus on manifesting the life we desire and cultivating faith. This crucial moment allows us to see ourselves as a creator of our lives. We realize that we can change anything we desire.

Here, spiritual surrender happens at the level of the mind. We consciously understand its importance and tell ourselves we want to surrender, but the minute a challenge manifests, we doubt ourselves and our dreams. This isn’t a complete surrender because we subconsciously believe we must make it happen.

A common example I’ve seen over and over is surrendering what feels easy but not letting God fully in. For some, it’s the area of relationships, love, health, or career. It may feel easy to surrender your future, but you’re still afraid of not making it financially. Or you may surrender your love life but tense up each time your body gets sick (once again).

At this level, we still believe the soul, higher self, or God don’t support us. Things can’t flow easily, and we must work hard to make it happen. There is always the next “disaster” behind the corner.

3. I let it happen through me

Finally, we arrive at the place where we let everything that is meant for us happen through us. We’ve had enough evidence that there is something higher than us, and we can trust it. At this level, spiritual surrender happens through the heart and is complete. We see life as a co-creation with God, knowing we’re the vessel, and we let it unfold through us.

We know it’s not us choosing our purpose; it chooses us, and we assume our active role in that process. Realizing that it’s our responsibility to act on our dreams, they want to be born through us. It’s a sacred co-creation.

At this level, we don’t waver in our spiritual surrender. It no longer depends on circumstances and how quickly and if something manifests. We listen to the guidance and act on it to the best of our abilities while surrendering the rest, knowing the rest will unfold through us. We only need to do our part in the equation.

Merging with the Cosmic Ocean

At the third level of co-creation, spiritual surrender is like merging back with the cosmic ocean. You become one with its body. There’s no more separation. It can carry you. It can hold you. You don’t have to labor everything by yourself like a separate entity. You can trust and surrender, knowing you can be patient because you know that when something comes from your heart and soul, it’s meant for you. You don’t have to control every step of the journey.

As you surrender, you know and affirm that it already happened. If it comes from the soul, what you desire did happen on a different timeline, which magnetizes to your present moment. In this masterclass, I teach all about collapsing time and tapping into the desired timeline.

As you surrender, you surrender the control, worries, doubts, fears, limiting beliefs, and emotions that aren’t aligned with your true self. At the same time, you stay committed to your intention, your dream, and where your soul is guiding you.

Since the guidance on what step to take next comes from the soul, it feels exciting. You feel like you can’t wait to co-create this, even if it is outside your comfort zone. As you act from the surrendered state, the soul-aligned action creates quantum leaps, which means you can get where you want much faster than if you were trying to figure it out by yourself.
